Proxy Participation in PRIs
On 26th February 2025, an advisory committee submitted its report, titled “Transforming Women’s Representation and Roles in Panchayati Raj Systems and Institutions: Eliminating Efforts for Proxy Participation” to the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
- The Supreme Court in Mundona Rural Development Foundation vs. UoI (2023) directed the formation of a committee to look into the proxy involvement in the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs).
