India Joins BRICS Centre for Industrial Competencies
On 4th February 2026, India formally joined the BRICS Centre for Industrial Competencies (BCIC) to strengthen industrial cooperation and provide integrated support services to manufacturing companies and MSMEs across BRICS nations.
- The National Productivity Council has been designated as the India Centre for BRICS Industrial Competencies.
- NPC will lead India’s engagement with BCIC, focusing on capacity building, productivity enhancement and adoption of advanced manufacturing practices.
- The initiative aims to provide integrated support services to manufacturing firms and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises across BRICS countries.
- The BCIC has been launched in partnership with the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.
