National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST)
On 19th February 2026, the 23rd Foundation Day of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) was celebrated at the Civil Services Officers Institute, Vinay Marg, New Delhi.
- NCST is a constitutional body established under Article 338-A of the Constitution through the 89th Constitutional Amendment Act, 2003, which bifurcated the earlier combined National Commission for SCs and STs to provide focused attention on the distinct problems and developmental needs of tribal communities.
