16th BRICS Summit

The 16th BRICS Summit was held in Kazan, Russia, from October 22–24, 2024. The summit was organized under the theme “Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security.” The summit focused on expanding BRICS membership, boosting economic integration, and promoting global peace.

Key Outcomes of the Summit

  • The summit resulted in the adoption of the Kazan Declaration, which emphasized the need for the peaceful resolution of global conflicts, including those in Ukraine and Gaza, and reaffirmed support for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
