2025 Grand Chess Tour at Zagreb in Croatia

On 2nd July 2025, reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju won the rapid title at the Rapid and Blitz tournament part of the 2025 Grand Chess Tour at Zagreb in Croatia.

  • The 19-year-old Indian player defeated America’s Wesley So in the final round to seal the rapid section.
  • The nine rounds of rapid action will be followed by 18 rounds of blitz in the tournament.
  • In the Blitz section, four out of the five highest-rated players in the world are participating, including Gukesh Dommaraju, Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, and Praggnanandhaa Rameshbabu. ....
