FRA Cells: Facilitating Forest Rights Act
On 11th June 2025, the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs approved the establishment of 324 district-level Forest Rights Act (FRA) cells across 18 States/UTs as part of the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DAJGUA).
- These cells are designed to aid the implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) of 2006.
What are District-Level FRA Cells?
- These are administrative units created under the DAJGUA scheme to assist in the effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
- They are centrally funded through grants-in-aid provided by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
