NAVYA Initiative
On 24th June 2025, in a significant step towards empowering young girls and furthering the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047, the Centre launched ‘NAVYA’ (Nurturing Aspirations through Vocational Training for Young Adolescent Girls) in Sonbhadra (Uttar Pradesh).
Key Points
- Objectives: To enhance employability, instill confidence and ambition, promote gender equality in the workforce, and enable young girls to contribute to India's socio-economic future.
- Ministries Involved: A joint initiative of the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).
- Target Group: Adolescent girls aged 16 to 18 years, who have completed at least Class 10.
