RECLAIM Framework
On 4th July 2025, the Coal Ministry launched the RECLAIM – a community engagement and development framework.
What is RECLAIM?
- It is a community engagement and development framework designed specifically for mine closures.
- It is designed specifically to address the challenges associated with mine closures, recognising the significant impact such closures have on both the environment and local livelihoods.
- Objective: To ensure a just, inclusive, and locally relevant transition for mining-affected communities, ensuring long-term sustainability and economic recovery post-mining.
