National Military Drone Technology Hub at IIT Kanpur
Recently, the Ministry of Defence has approved, in principle, the establishment of a Rs.500 crore National Military Drone Technology Hub at IIT Kanpur to promote the design, testing, and certification of military drones and counter-drone technologies.
- The proposal has been prepared by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), the nodal agency for the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor (UPDIC).
- The hub will build on IIT Kanpur’s existing Centre of Excellence for Drone Technologies, strengthening research, testing, startup incubation, training, and industry collaboration while supporting Atmanirbhar Bharat through indigenous defence ....
