SC Guidelines for Protection and Rehabilitation of Trafficking Victims
On 29th May 2026, in a comprehensive judgment on human trafficking and protection of victims of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE) in India, the Supreme Court(SC) issued detailed guidelines on establishing a uniform victim protection protocol for survivors of CSE.
- The guidelines were based on a petition submitted by the NGO Prajwala in 2004 that pointed out the lapses in the way victims of CSE were treated, at the pre-rescue, rescue and rehabilitation levels.
