Union Health Ministry Releases National Family Health Survey-6
On 29th May 2026, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) released the National Family Health Survey-6.
Major Highlights
Maternal and Child Healthcare
Improved Antenatal Care (ANC)
- ANC coverage increased from 92.6% to 95.9%.
- First-trimester ANC registration increased from 70.0% to 76.2%.
- Mothers receiving at least four ANC visits increased from 58.5% to 65.2%.
Safer Childbirth Practices
- Institutional deliveries increased from 88.6% to 90.6%.
- Births attended by skilled health personnel increased from 89.4% to 91.3%.
Maternal Nutrition
Increased Consumption of Iron-Folic Acid (IFA) Supplements
- IFA consumption for 100 days or more during pregnancy increased ....
