Anti-Radiation Missile: RUDRAM-1
- In October, 2020, the DRDO successfully flight tested indigenously developed Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1).
- Anti-radiation missiles are meant to debilitate enemy air defence systems, by taking out radars, communication sites, and other radio frequency emitting targets, thereby foiling any plans to launch surface-to-air missiles.
- It is designed to detect, track and neutralise the adversary’s radar, communication assets and other radio frequency sources, which are generally part of their air defence systems.
- These can locate and target any radiation emitting source.
