Boosting India-ASEAN Ties: PM Proposes 10-Point Plan
On 10th October 2024, Indian Prime Minister announced a comprehensive 10-point plan aimed at strengthening India-ASEAN relations during the 21st ASEAN-India Summit in Vientiane, Laos, while emphasizing mutual respect for national integrity and sovereignty.
The 10-Point Plan
The Prime Minister's 10-point plan outlines specific initiatives aimed at fostering closer ties between India and ASEAN:
- ASEAN-India Year of Tourism (2025): Acknowledging the significance of tourism, this initiative aims to promote people-to-people connections and cultural exchanges.
- Scholarships at Nalanda University: Doubling the number of scholarships for ASEAN students represents a commitment to educational collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
