First State to Implement Dalit Sub-Quotas
- Recently, the Haryana Cabinet announced that the state government would implement the Supreme Court’s order on the sub-classification of Scheduled Castes (SCs).
- The move is first in the country after the apex curt order.
- Haryana’s move, backed by a state commission’s recommendations, is aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of the “Deprived Scheduled Castes” (DSC), who are more marginalized in employment sectors compared to “Other Scheduled Castes” (OSC).
