Rising Burden of Tuberculosis

On 29th October, 2024, the World Health Organization (WHO) released the Global Tuberculosis Report 2024.

  • WHO has been publishing Global Tuberculosis (TB) Report every year since 1997.
  • The report provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic, and of progress in prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the disease at global, regional and country levels.

  • India saw a slight decline in the estimated number of tuberculosis cases and deaths in 2023.
