- On 17th October 2025, trans rights activist Akkai Padmashali was appointed as a member of the Supreme Court-constituted committee to formulate an equal opportunity policy for the protection of transgender rights.
- Formed on October 17, 2025, it is the first such committee with representation from the transgender community.
