Prime Minister Internship Scheme: Shaping the Future of India’s Workforce
On 15th October 2025, the Union Finance Minister interacted with interns of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) at Hampi, Karnataka.
About PMIS
- Launched in October 2024, it aims to provide one crore paid internship opportunities for the youth of India in the top 500 companies of India in 5 years.
- The scheme has been positioned by the Government of India as part of a broader strategy to make India the “Skill Capital of the World”.
- PMIS is aimed towards youth aged 21-24 who are currently not enrolled in any full-time academic program or employment.
