Pre-INC Organizations and Founders
- The British Indian Association (1851 in Bengal) – first political organization to bring Indians on one platform. First president of committee was Raja Radhakanta Deb, and secretary was Debendranath Tagore.
- The Bombay Association (1852 in Bombay) — founded by Jagannath Shankarseth and included members like Dadabhai Naoroji, Jamshedji Jejibhai, Naoroji Fursungi, etc.
- East India Association (1866 in London) — founded by Dadabhai Naoroji. It included retired Indian and British officials as members.
- Madras Native Association (1852) — founded by Gazulu Lakshminarasu Chetty as a platform for educated Indians to protest against the unjust British policies and actions.
