Aspirational Districts and Blocks Program
- The 'Aspirational Districts Programme' (ADP), launched in January 2018, was aimed at accelerating the development of the 100 most backward districts to take the country forward.
- To achieve this, NITI Aayog has prepared 'Aspirational District Framework'. The process of identifying underdeveloped districts (which were named Aspirational Districts) in the states and union territories has been described under this framework.
- Ongoing activities under the 'Aspirational Districts Programme' have resulted in significant progress across several key performance indicators in many districts and have helped localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
