​Bulgaria and Romania Get Full Membership in Schengen Zone

On 12th December 2024, the European Union officially granted Bulgaria and Romania full membership in the Schengen zone, ending a 13-year wait for the two countries.

  • Starting 1st January 2025, both nations joined the borderless area, allowing unrestricted travel within the zone.
