Credit Guarantee Scheme for e-NWR-Based Pledge Financing
On 16th December 2024, the Union Government introduced the Credit Guarantee Scheme for e-NWR-Based Pledge Financing, enabling farmers to secure low-interest loans using their produce as collateral.
About the Scheme
- Objective: The scheme aims to minimize distress selling by farmers by providing a Rs. 1,000 crore corpus for post-harvest finance, secured by electronic negotiable warehouse receipts (e-NWRs).
- Target Beneficiaries: Focuses on small and marginal farmers, women, SC/ST/PwD farmers, MSMEs, traders, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), with minimal guarantee fees.
- Risk Coverage: Covers credit and warehouseman risks to boost confidence in the banking sector and encourage lending.
