Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal

  • Recently, Dinesh Khatak of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was awarded the prestigious “Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal.”
  • The medal is awarded for outstanding performance in four categories:
    • Special operations
    • Investigation
    • Intelligence
    • Forensic science
  • The award is announced annually on 31 October, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
  • The medal is conferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
  • It was instituted in February 2024 by merging four earlier medals into a single comprehensive honour.
