Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal
- Recently, Dinesh Khatak of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was awarded the prestigious “Union Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal.”
- The medal is awarded for outstanding performance in four categories:
- Special operations
- Investigation
- Intelligence
- Forensic science
- The award is announced annually on 31 October, on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- The medal is conferred by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- It was instituted in February 2024 by merging four earlier medals into a single comprehensive honour.
