Uttar Pradesh’s 21% Contribution to National Foodgrain Supply
- On 12th December 2025, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched Farmers’ School 8.0 for the Rabi season in Barabanki district.
- Uttar Pradesh has only 11% of India’s cultivable land but contributes 21% of total national foodgrain production.
- Agricultural growth rate increased from 8.6% to 17.7%.
- Major crops (Uttar Pradesh’s national share):
- Sugarcane – 55% (1st)
- Wheat – 35% (1st)
- Foodgrains – 21% (1st)
