War Hero Thakur Balwant Singh
- On 13th December 2025, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled the statue of 1971 war hero Thakur Balwant Singh in Bakhasar village, Barmer district.
- As a border scout, Thakur Balwant Singh provided crucial support to the Indian Army during the 1971 India–Pakistan War, especially in the Chhachhro raid.
- As a result, the Indian Army captured Chhachhro in Sindh.
- His local knowledge and bravery proved decisive in pushing Pakistani forces out of the region.
- In recognition of his services, he was granted two All-India arms licences.
