Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Bill 2021
On 1st December, 2021, Lok Sabha passed the Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Bill, 2020, which makes provisions for the safe and ethical practice of assisted reproductive technology (ART) services in the country.
The bill has excluded live-in couples, single men and the LGBTQ community.
Aim
- Its aim is to regulate ART banks and clinics, allow safe and ethical practice of ARTs and protect women and children from exploitation.
