Recently, the Climate Change Performance Index 2023 (CCPI) was released. India jumped 2 spots higher and is now ranked 8th as per the Index.
About the Index
- Published By: It is being published annually since 2005 by Germanwatch, the New Climate Institute and the Climate Action Network.
- Objective: The CCPI aims to enhance transparency in international climate politics and enables comparison of climate protection efforts and progress made by individual countries.
- It is an independent monitoring tool for tracking the climate protection performance of 59 countries and the EU.
- Criteria: The climate protection performance of these 59 countries, which together account for 92% ....
