Scheme for Strengthening Medical Device Industry
On 8th November, 2024, the Union government launched the Scheme for Strengthening the Medical Device Industry.
Key Objectives
- Boost domestic manufacturing of key medical device components, raw materials, and accessories.
- Establish common and testing facilities to enhance manufacturing quality.
- Support clinical studies to improve the safety, efficacy, and marketability of medical devices.

- Common Facilities for Medical Devices Clusters: Will provide financial assistance to create shared infrastructure like R&D labs, testing centers, and animal labs within medical device clusters.
