First State to Introduce Paid Menstrual Leave

  • The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the Menstrual Leave Policy, 2025.
  • All women employees in the state will receive 1 day of paid menstrual leave per month.
  • The policy applies to women working in:
    • Government departments
    • Garment units
    • IT companies
    • Multinational corporations (MNCs)
    • Other private industries
