Key Initiatives Approved by the Assam Cabinet
Recently, the Assam Cabinet approved several important initiatives:
- Assam Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Policy, 2025
- Aim: To make Assam the leading aviation MRO hub of Northeast India by 2030 and strengthen the state's education ecosystem.
- High-Level Investment Committee
- To be chaired by the Chief Minister.
- Will guide policies, fast-track approvals, provide customised incentive packages (when needed), and ensure continuous support for investments Rs. 10,000 crore and above.
- Assam Non-Government Educational Institutions (Fee Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2025
- Strengthens fee regulation for private educational institutions.
- Includes institutions established and run by minority communities under Article 30(1) of the Constitution.
