National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance 2.0
On 18th November 2025, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare launched the second version of the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (2025–29).
- The initiative aims to strengthen India’s response to antimicrobial resistance through coordinated action across sectors.

- The new National Action Plan attempts to plug gaps identified during the implementation of the first NAP-AMR (2017–21).
- While the earlier version established the broad framework, the second version focuses on defined responsibilities, measurable timelines, and budget-linked action plans for each stakeholder ministry.
