Recent Developments

In 2022, India and Japan marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

  • To commemorate this milestone, the Ministry celebrated ‘India-Japan at 70’ this year through a series of events in Japan and India.
  • The 14th India-Japan Annual Summit was held in New Delhi in March, 2022 when Prime Minister Fumio Kishida made an official visit to India.
  • Prime Minister of India travelled to Tokyo in May 2022 to attend the 2nd Quad Leader’s Summit.
