Trade Deal between India & Nepal
Recently, during the visit of Nepal’s Prime Minister to India (from May 31 to June 3), India and Nepal announced the completion of a long-term power trade deal between the two countries. They also signed seven agreements covering various areas such as trade, energy, and infrastructure.
The Seven Agreements
- Long-term Power Trade Agreement: This agreement focuses on enhancing power trade between India and Nepal, strengthening the power sector of both countries. India will import 10,000 MW of power from Nepal over the next 10 years.
