- On 8th May, 2024, NAI has acquired the private paper collection of independence activist and politician Late Rafi Ahmad Kidwai, comprising original correspondences of Shri Kidwai with other eminent leaders like Pt. Nehru, Sardar Patel, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
- NIA is the custodian of the records of enduring value of the Government of India.
- It was established on 11 March, 1891 at Calcutta (Kolkata) as the Imperial Records Department.
- It is the biggest archival repository in South Asia. ....
