Gaganyaan Mission
Gaganyaan Mission is India’s first human spaceflight mission planned by ISRO. Under this, ISRO aims to send a three-member crew to low Earth orbit for three days.
Key Achievements (2023–2025)
Uncrewed Testing
- Over 7,000 tests completed to certify the human rating of launch vehicle, successful validation of propulsion system, crew module escape system, and parachutes.
Parachute and Recovery System
- 10-parachute setup prepared for the mission.
Astronaut Training
- Four pilots selected from the Indian Air Force.
- Training completed in Russia; mission-specific training ongoing in India.
- Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla will go to the ISS in June 2025.
