World Food Prize
- Mariangela Hungria from Brazil was awarded the 2025 World Food Prize for her groundbreaking work in using soil bacteria to boost Brazil's grain production.
- In 1987, M. S. Swaminathan form India won the inaugural prize for introducing high-yielding wheat and rice varieties to India in the 1960s starting India's Green Revolution, and for leadership at International Rice Research Institute.
