On 21st May 2026, the Ministry of Science & Technology dedicated the UMMID (Unique Methods of Management of Inherited Disorders) Programme for Rare Genetic Disorders/ Diseases to the Nation.
What is UMMID Programme?
- About: UMMID (Unique Methods of Management of Inherited Disorders) is a national initiative launched for rare genetic disorders and diseases.
- Aim: To improve the diagnosis and management of inherited and rare genetic disorders through early intervention and affordable healthcare.
- Nodal Ministry: Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science & Technology.
