India and Saudi Arabia Deepen Strategic Ties
On 22nd April 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's state visit to Saudi Arabia resulted in major agreements to strengthen political, defence, cultural and investment cooperation between the two nations.
- The second leaders' meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) was co-chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah, reviewing the full range of bilateral cooperation.
- To reflect the expanding defence partnership, the leaders agreed to establish a new Ministerial Committee on Defence Cooperation under the SPC framework.
