Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
- On 26th April 2025, Indian government announced the resumption of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra to the Tibet region.
- The Yatra was suspended initially in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequently because of the military standoff between the two sides on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh.
- There are two primary routes to reach Lake Mansarovar from India.
- Lipulekh Pass Route: Lipulekh pass lies at an altitude of 5,115 metres, on the border between Uttarakhand and Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), near the trijunction with Nepal.
