Kerala Launches V2G Pilot Project with IIT Bombay
- Recently, the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), in collaboration with IIT Bombay, launched a pilot project to explore the feasibility of Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology—marking a significant step towards grid-interactive electric mobility in India
- V2G technology allows Electric Vehicles (EVs) to discharge unused power back to the grid, enabling them to act as mobile energy storage units that enhance grid flexibility.
- When connected to a bi-directional charger, idle EVs can support the power grid by supplying electricity during peak demand, helping manage load and stabilise renewable energy fluctuations.
