M-CADWM Scheme Approved
On 9th April 2025, the Union Cabinet approved the ‘Modernisation of Command Area Development and Water Management (M-CADWM)’ as a sub-scheme of the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).
Aim
- Modernization of the irrigation water supply network to supply of irrigation water from existing canals or other sources in a designated cluster.

Focus on Modernizing Irrigation Infrastructure
- Focuses on farms up to 1 hectare, ensuring small-scale farmers benefit from modern systems.
- Supports the backend infrastructure of micro-irrigation systems to improve reach and efficiency.
