Panchayat Advancement Index 2022-23
On 9th April 2025, in a major stride towards localizing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empowering grassroots governance, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj launched the Panchayat Advancement Index (PAI).
What is PAI?
- Transformative Tool: To measure the progress of over 2.5 lakh Gram Panchayats (GPs) across India.
- Performance Measurement: Captures Panchayats’ performance across nine themes of Localized SDGs (LSDGs).
- Local Indicators Framework (LIF): PAI has been formulated based on 435 unique Local Indicators Framework (LIF) aligned with National Indicator Framework (NIF) of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
- Thematic Scores: Thematic scores across nine themes of Localized Sustainable Development Goals, obtained ....
