Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II)
On 4th April 2025, the Union Cabinet approved the Vibrant Villages Programme-II (VVP-II), aimed at the comprehensive development of villages in blocks abutting international land borders (ILBs).
Highlights of VVP-II
- Objective: Improve living conditions, provide livelihood opportunities, ensure prosperous and safe borders, and integrate border populations with the nation.
- Outlay: Rs. 6,839 crores for the financial years 2024-25 to 2028-29.
- Target Areas: States/UTs of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
- Funding: 100% Centre funding under the Central Sector Scheme.
- Infrastructure: Focus on all-weather road connectivity, telecom, television, ....
