AICTE Launches Third Edition of VAANI Scheme
On 17th April 2026, in a significant push towards linguistic inclusivity in higher education, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) launched the third edition of its flagship AICTE-VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages) scheme.
Rationale behind the Launch
Bridging the Language Gap
- A major issue in India’s education system is the shift from regional language schooling to English-based higher education.
- This transition often creates comprehension difficulties for students.
- The VAANI 3.0 scheme aims to reduce this gap by promoting multilingual teaching and learning.
- Students are expected to perform better academically when taught in familiar languages.
