Dhar Selected Under ‘Safe Cities’ Project
- On 22nd April 2026, the Madhya Pradesh government announced that Dhar has been selected under the Centre’s ‘Safe Cities’ project for 2026.
- The initiative is led by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and is fully funded by the Central Government.
- An allocation of ₹10 crore has been made for Dhar, with implementation planned over five years.
- The project aims to enhance women’s safety and create secure public spaces.
- Measures include installation of CCTV cameras, improved street lighting, and better monitoring systems.
- Facilities like ‘Pink Toilets’ and dedicated waiting areas in hospitals will be developed.
