e-SafeHER: Building Safer Digital Futures
On 13th April 2026, the Ministry of Electronics & IT announced the launch of e-SafeHER initiative.
What is e-SafeHER?
- It is a cybersecurity training initiative aimed at building a gender-responsive, community-led model of digital safety and inclusion, particularly targeting rural women.
Key Features
- Institutional Framework:Anchored under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) Programme, it is implemented by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) in partnership with Reliance Foundation.
- Cyber Sakhi Model: The programme trains women to become Cyber Sakhis (cyber friends) who then act as peer educators within their local communities.
