India, Türkiye Hold 12th Foreign Office Consultations
On 8th April 2026, India and Türkiye held the 12th round of Foreign Office Consultations (FoC) in New Delhi, signalling efforts to revive strained bilateral relations.
- This was the first round of consultations since 2022, after relations were strained over Türkiye’s stance on Kashmir and support to Pakistan.
- Discussions covered trade, investment, tourism, technology, energy, education, cultural ties, and counter-terrorism cooperation.
- Both sides also exchanged views on regional and global issues of mutual interest.
- Relations had deteriorated following statements by Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Türkiye’s support to Pakistan during recent conflicts.
