- The Lanjia Saoras are one of the oldest and most distinct tribal communities in India.
- They belong to the larger Saora ethnic group and are recognised by the Government of India as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) because of their stagnant population, low literacy levels, and dependence on traditional livelihoods.
