Samrat Samprati Museum Inaugurated
- Recently, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum in Gujarat to promote awareness of ancient Indian history.
- The museum highlights the legacy of Samrat Samprati, a lesser-known Mauryan ruler and grandson of Ashoka.
- Samprati ruled during 224-215 BC and was also known as Indrapalit, Sangat, and Vigatashok.
- He is regarded as a major patron of Jainism and promoter of the principle of ahimsa (non-violence).
- Due to his contributions, he is often referred to as the “Jain Ashoka.”
- He played a key role in spreading Jainism beyond India, including regions like Iran and Arab countries. ....
