CVC Revises Rules for Appointing Independent External Monitors
On 27th January, 2022, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) revised the criteria for the nomination of Independent External Monitors (IEM).
Earlier, CVC had revised standard operating procedure for adoption and implementation of the ‘Integrity Pact’ clause, which is meant to prevent corruption in public procurement.
Independent External Monitors (IEM)
- IEMs are appointed by CVC to look into issues relating to execution of contract (s) and any irregularities.
- They independently and objectively review the documents to determine if the parties have complied with their obligations under the integrity Pact (IP).
