GST and Ease of Doing Business
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) is the biggest reform in the field of indirect taxes towards realizing the concept of 'One Nation, One Tax, One Market'.
- In the last 6 years, the tax base of GST increased from 67.8 lakh to about 1.4 crore and in April 2023, SGT revenue of Rs 1,87,035 crore was collected, which was the highest till date.
- GST registration is PAN based (Satet Wise). It is mandatory for the tax administration to issue 'GST Registration Certificate' within 07 days of application for GST registration.
